ADMISSION PROCEDURES

Admission to Arts Educational Schools London is by vocational workshops and audition, and interview with the Head or a senior member of staff.
We also consider the reference from the applicant’s current school.

Admissions Year 7-11
Pupils will usually join the school in either Year 7 or Year 12, although some places occasionally become available in Years 8, 9 and 10. All applicants will take part in the school’s admission tests, which include academic tests, vocational workshops and individual auditions. Pupils will also undertake an interview with a member of the leadership team.
Parents will be invited to join this part of the process. Further details of the admission process will be available on application.

Audition
For the audition process candidates will be required to prepare and present:
Either: A short dance of no more than 1 minute in length (accompaniment on CD is acceptable)
Or: A 2-minute speech from a play (please ensure that the character is of appropriate playing age to the candidate and bring a copy of the text with you).
and also
Either: A short song (please bring sheet music if you require piano accompaniment)
Or: A short instrumental recital (please bring sheet music if you require piano accompaniment).

Overseas Applicants
The UK Government is reviewing the systems whereby overseas students from non-EU countries can study in the UK. We are currently taking advice from the UK Borders Agency as to how to proceed which may cause a delay in the processing of your application to study at The Arts Educational Schools. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.”

I thought the quality of the production and screen acting was staggering. The BAFTA screening was a thoroughly enjoyable and inspiring experience.
