The Acting programmes offer contemporary, industry–relevant vocational training for actors. It equips the student to a high level for a career as a professional actor in a range of performance contexts including live performance, film, television and radio.
Students in receipt of Dance and Drama Award (see Grants and Awards section) who successfully complete the course will also be awarded the National Diploma in Professional Acting (3 years), or the National Advances Certificate in Professional Acting (1 Year).
Both courses are fully accredited by the National Council for Drama Training and the Department for Education and Skills. In addition, we are a member of the Conference of Drama Schools. A British Equity Card (full Equity status) is granted to all full–time acting course graduates.
We work to create an environment for training, which is based on trust, mutual respect and passion. The School believes that it is from within this environment that students will be secure enough to take huge creative risks. In addition, the School believes that the individual performer learns best from within the group, and that the ensemble grows from the constructive input of every individual.
The BA and MA Acting programmes are validated by City University and approved by Trinity College, London.
