Part-time courses - Open Day

Saturday 17th April 2010 2:00 - 6:00pm

Update

We have had to make a few last-minute changes to the scheduling of the day.  Consequently there will no longer be an introduction in the main theatre at 2:00pm, however guided tours will still be available from 1:30pm.

Changes to trial classes:

All Acting for Stage classes will now take place at 4:30pm, All Acting for Screen & TV classes will now take place at 3:00pm.  All other classes will operate as originally planned.

We have heard of many people suffering difficulties when booking online - please call 020 8987 6692 to reserve your place, or otherwise please aim to arrive approximately 30 minutes prior to your desired trial class in order to guarantee your place.

The Open Day is open for anyone looking to enrol on any of our Part-Time Courses, including both the One-Year Foundation Courses, and Evening Courses.

The day will begin with an introduction to the courses on offer, from the Course Coordinators, and the Part-Time Courses Manager.  After this there will be opportunities to tour the school, as well as participate in some introductory classes.  The day will end back in the Main Reception, where you will be able to discuss particular courses with individual tutors, and enjoy a complimentary glass of wine.

Open Day Fees:

For the Foundation Courses: £30
For the Evening Courses: £20*

*Additional £5 charge if opting for two trial classes.

Fees include participation in one of our introductory classes, a tour of the school, and a complimentary drink in the main foyer, at the end of the day.

The first 120 places booked will also be invited to attend an Introduction to the Courses on offer, taking place in the Main Theatre.

Foundation Courses:

Introductory Classes are available in both Acting & Musical Theatre.

Introductory Classes will last 2½ hours (the same length as a training session would usually last on the course), between 3pm and 5:30pm.  These sessions will be led by current tutors of the Foundation Courses, and are ideal for candidates looking to audition for the academic year beginning September 2010.

We recommend candidates arrive prepared, wearing comfortable clothing, suitable for movement work (blacks aren’t a requirement).  For the Musical Theatre course, dance shoes are recommended, should you own a pair.

Evening Courses:

Introductory Classes will be available for Acting for Stage, Acting for Screen & TV, Musical Theatre, Writing for Stage & Screen & Directing for Stage.

Classes will be available at the following times: Either 3:00pm or 4:30pm start.

Tier 1 – This course is recommended for those with limited or no experience of the course subject.
Tier 2 – This course is recommended for those who have prior experience of the course subject, and/or are looking at enhancing their skills for a career in the arts.

Those attending the Open Day may participate in a maximum of two classes each.  Additional trial classes will be charged an additional £5.00.
