Holiday Courses - Easter Young People

Young peoples holiday courses

Courses for 2012 announced
All courses are led by regular tutors at ArtsEd. Each course is offered for a specific age range, so please check the details of the course carefully before applying to avoid disappointment.

Our courses are tailored to offer a challenging, fulfilling course for the child’s specific age-group.  Our aim is to enable participants to engage creatively in their own development, whether their wish is to become a professional performer, or are just here to have fun.

2012 Easter Course Dates:

Tuesday 10th – Saturday 14th April

Online bookings will open on Tuesday 1st November 2011

Create a musical in a week (7-12)

Working with a Musical Director and Choreographer you will explore popular songs from a selection of West End musicals, before working with your group to devise your own mini-musical which will be presented at the end of the week. Course Tutors TBC

Create a play in a week (7-12)

A buzzing week of drama, improvisation and games that develops basic performing and confidence skills using fun and imaginative play. The ‘play in a week’ course is a chance during the holidays for young people aged 7–12 years to use their imaginations and create a whole play with the help of a professional director. A public performance is given at the end of the week. Course Tutor Rebecca Coward

Youth Musical Theatre School (12-16)

This course focuses on both training and performance, giving young performers a true impression of what it would be like to become a professional musical theatre performer. Participants will train in the separate disciplines of acting, singing and dance, and then combine these skills within their rehearsals and finally in a performance of a musical theatre medley, at the end of the week. Course Tutors TBC

Youth Actor's School (12-16)

This course offers an excellent opportunity for any young actors to expand their horizons, and gain insight into a number of different performer practices, as part of a fun-filled week. The course incorporates acting games, improvisation, modern text, stage combat, and introduces you to acting for film & television. Course Tutors TBC

I have become a huge advocate for the film training at ArtsEd, as both an observer and occasional guest artist. I am constantly impressed by the performance and production output, which are of the highest professional standards. There is no better grounding for a career in acting.
