1 evening per week for 10 weeks.
All Tier 1 Courses are Open-Access, and are open to all levels of experience and ability.
These courses are recommended for those with limited or no experience of the course subject, and are ideal for anyone looking to learn new skills, at an amateur level.

Courses Available From 13th September 2010

Courses run as 10 sessions over 11 weeks (no class in week 6). Each class runs 7pm-9pm, one evening per week.

Acting for Stage - Tier 1 - Monday Evenings
Tutor - Loren O’Dair
With the direction of your tutor, participants will work as part of a small group on both scripted and devised material. The focus of this course is to develop confidence and stage presence; skills which are useful for both amateur performers and in a number of related fields. The material used in classes will change regularly, and participants will be encouraged to perform diverse roles, pushing your boundaries and extending beyond your pre-conceived limits.

Acting for Screen & TV - Tier 1 - Tuesday Evenings
Tutor - Neil Rawlinson
As an introduction to Acting for screen, this 10 week course will explore the fundamentals of performing to the camera, establishing knowledge of the industry and the differences between schools of acting, and between live and recorded performance. Through an understanding of character development and accessing the script you will build your skill-set in a supportive and exploratory environment, releasing the performer within.

Musical Theatre - Tier 1 - Monday Evenings
Course Leader/Choreographer - Ewan Jones
Musical Director - Barney Ashworth
Working with a Choreographer and Musical Director, you will explore a variety of musical theatre styles. Participants will work as part of a group, exploring song and dance pieces from all genre of musical theatre, focusing on characterisation, singing styles, and choreography. This is a great way for anyone interested in musical theatre, singing or dance to develop their skills within a challenging and rewarding course.
