Foundation Course Admissions

All applicants will be invited to attend an informal audition evening.

For the Acting option, candidates will be asked to prepare a contemporary monologue (written post-1980), lasting approximately 2 minutes. During the evening there will also be a group workshop, which does not require any preparation, and an informal interview.

For the Musical Theatre option, candidates will be asked to prepare two contrasting songs, from any Musical Theatre production(s).  Candidates will also need to prepare a contemporary monologue (written post-1980), lasting approximately 2 minutes.  In addition, each candidate will need to participate in a dance class – no prepared material required.

Candidates are advised that you may not be required to sing the full length of your chosen songs, however should come prepared.

Applications & Fees

Applications should be submitted before Friday 16th July 2010, with the audition fee included, in order to guarantee a place on one of our audition dates.  If your audition is successful, you will receive a Student Contract, containing details of your course, and available payment options.

All fees are to be paid in £ sterling only. Overseas students can contact Arts Educational Schools London for details of an international money transfer.

Notes for Non-EU Students

As the course is a Part-Time course, we are unable to sponsor a student applying for a Student Visa, to study at ArtsEd.  Students from a Commonwealth Country may be elligible to apply for a “Working Holiday Visa”, as the course does not conflict with the terms of this visa application.  All other non-EU students will need to find other means of remaining in the country for the full duration of the course, should they wish to apply.

Location

Situated in Chiswick, London, a residential area with excellent shopping facilities. Easy access to London’s airports and International connections. Twenty minutes from the West End, served by frequent trains from Turnham Green Tube on the District Line, a two minute walk away.

Certificates

Arts Educational Schools London Certificates will be awarded on satisfactory completion of courses.

Clothing

Students should wear loose-fitting clothes which make them feel comfortable and in which they can move easily. Soft shoes are required.

Accommodation

Accommodation is not provided in the course fee.

Streaming

Students will be accepted on the basis of applications demonstrating satisfactory experience and/or potential and interest, based upon information provided in the application. It may be necessary on occasion to split a group up into smaller numbers to accommodate different needs and levels of abilities, so students are able to get the best out of the course.

Cancellations

You may withdraw your application at any before the start of your course.

Your audition fee is non-refundable, once an audition date has been offered.

If you have accepted an offer for your course, you will be subject to the terms and conditions of that offer, detailed in the Student Contract.
